Blog title change
A couple of days ago I changed the blog title from “503 Service Unavailable” to the current “Geek Blight”. The reasons for the change are pretty simple. The new title is shorter and makes the whole title and subtitle fit better on a mobile screen. It’s almost unique and will hopefully make posts easier to find with a web search. Finally, it’s way less confusing.
I also slightly tuned the blog generator script to include the post title in post pages, again hopefully making them easier to index and search and more useful in Disqus comment notifications.
“Geek Blight” is a reference to both the expression “urban blight” and the Borderlands 2 area “Eridium Blight”, and has an air of pessimism and decadence. I don’t know if that’s good or bad, but I like it.
